PM Erdogan Meets Iraqi President Talabani

PM Erdogan Meets Iraqi President TalabaniTurkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan met with the Iraqi President Jalal Talabani at the United Nations (UN) on Wednesday. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, State Minister and Chief Negotiator for EU talks Egemen Bagis, Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek and Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Mahmud Zebari attended Erdogan's meeting with Talabani.

Prime Minister Erdogan and the Turkish ministers later met with Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha.

Erdogan is expected to attend a luncheon to be hosted by the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon at the UN and later proceed to Princeton on Wednesday.

Erdogan will return to New York after delivering a speech at Princeton University. He will attend the 2009 Annual Balkan Leaders reception in New York where he will deliver a speech.

Prime Minister Erdogan will later attend a reception to be hosted by US President Barack Obama at the Metropolitan Museum.

Erdogan is also expected to meet with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday evening in New York.
